Terms of Reference
The following clarifications define how our kiln calibration, moisture audits, and seasoning consultancy are interpreted. These notes remove ambiguity around deliverables, measurement standards, and site responsibilities.
Sensor calibration covers thermal probes inside the drying chamber only. Reference readings are taken against a certified standard at three chamber positions. Calibration does not include control panel software adjustments unless separately agreed in writing.
An acoustic moisture audit measures moisture content across designated hardwood stacks using non-destructive testing. Results are reported as a distribution profile, not as a single average. Audits are valid for the specific stack configuration at the time of testing.
Custom airflow schedules are designed for the species, thickness, and initial moisture content provided by the client. Schedules assume standard kiln loading patterns. Any deviation in load density or stacking method may require a revised schedule.
The client provides safe access to kiln chambers, stack locations, and power supply for testing equipment. Kiln downtime for sensor access is coordinated in advance. On-site personnel must be available to assist with stack identification and chamber entry procedures.
Reports include raw readings, reference standards used, and recommended corrective actions. Data from audits is treated as confidential and is not shared with third parties. Reports are delivered within five working days after the site visit.
Recommendations are based on conditions observed during the visit. We are not liable for defects arising from changes made after our assessment, including altered kiln settings, modified stacking practices, or unapproved sensor replacements.
